As part of our coronavirus response in Hawaii, DAWSON made a $10,000 to Chef Hui x Aloha Harvest to support their #feedthepeopleHI partnership initiative. Chef Hui is dedicated “To Keep Farmers Farming, Chefs Cooking & Communities Eating” by helping to get prepared meals into the hands of those who need it most. DAWSON’s donation will enable Chef Hui to purchase food that local chefs will turn into prepared meals for Native Hawaiian families in need on O‘ahu. Through distribution partnerships with Hālau Kū Mana and Papakōlea Community Center, DAWSON is helping to feed Native Hawaiian families in Wai‘anae, Waimānalo, and Papakōlea.
Chef Hui is a project of the Pili Group by Chef Mark Noguchi. Aloha Harvest is a non-profit organization that rescues quality, donated food and delivers it free of charge to social service agencies feeding hungry people in Hawai‘i.
