CLIENT: Air Force Civil Engineer Center and 577th Expeditionary Prime BEEF Squadron (Deployed)
SCOPE: DAWSON employees deploy to the CENTCOM AOR to provide extensive hands-on training to expeditionary Civil Engineers on removing excess rubber from runway surfaces.  Repeated cargo and fighter aircraft landings and braking causes rubber to collect on expeditionary runways.  The rubber fills runway grooves that allow water to flow off the runway and may cause hydroplaning conditions.  This critical procedure removes rubber, cleans the grooves, and restores the surface friction needed for safe aircraft operations.
