The DAWSON team at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida has been “Rockin’ It”!  Inspired by the ukulele tunes of Colorado Spring’s Chelsea Cabanting, the Tyndall office decided to give the gift of music to the residents of the Mathison Retirement Community year.  DAWSON purchased 20 ukuleles for the residents along with ten hour-long lessons from the St. Andrew’s Ukulele Orchestra for everyone.

This thoughtful gift is a chance for the residents to build relationships with their instructors and the local DAWSON team and CXR families.  Moreover, it’s a chance for the residents to keep their minds active learning new skills, and a chance for them to give back to their families and community by performing later in the year at the 2nd Annual Strummin’ Man Festival!  If you happen to be in Panama City for October 12th-14th, be sure to go listen to their performance.

MAHALO to Tammy Stundon, Ilona Werner, and Mike Gelsleichter for helping to create such beauty with the elders of their community.  40 residents showed up for their kick-off ukulele session this past weekend which doubled the average turn-out according to the retirement home’s director of activities.  They embraced our aloha and the native Hawaiian music!
